Handstand exercises
The exercises from the Handstand Pro app, each with a video of the movement, the steps to do it and the mistakes that spoil it. The catalog has 10 of the app's 94.
The hardest part is knowing what to do each day. With the app, you start the session and it handles the rest: it picks the exercises, counts the seconds and the sets for you, and moves you on as soon as you pass the test.
Cartwheel bailThe exit you'll use on every freestanding attempt: a hand to the side, the hips turn.
Chest-to-wall holdChest facing the wall, only the toes touching: the position where you learn the right line.
Full hold (feet together)The handstand as you picture it: legs together from start to finish, body stacked from hands to feet.
Hollow body holdThe handstand shape, practised lying on your back with the lower back pressed down.
Split handstandThe handstand without a wall, one leg forward and one back, like scissors.
Toe pullsFacing the wall, you lift your toes off by pressing into your fingers: your first real balance.
Wall plankFeet on the wall at hip height: the first time your shoulders carry your weight overhead.
Wall tuck bailThe gentlest way to learn coming down, from a tucked position against the wall.
Wall walksGetting to the wall without a kick-up, walking your feet up while your hands come in.
Wrist circlesThe first drill of every session, before any bodyweight goes on your wrists.
